As Europe's southernmost ski resort, Sierra Nevada enjoys more days of sunshine per year than anywhere else in the continent (over 80% of sunny days) and is full of contrast including the historical city of Granada, just 30 minutes away by car and 70 minutes away from the Mediterranean Sea. It means that you could ski in the morning and be on the coast in the afternoon if you desire! Accessing to the resort is not a big deal with direct flights from London City Airport to Granada Airport (54 km - 50 minutes) and flights from the UK and all around Europe to Malaga International Airport (160 km - 2 hours)
With more than 106 kilometres of trails for all levels in 124 marked slopes (21 lifts), the resort base level is at 2,100 m. high and the top station is at 3,300 m. (Veleta peak 3,398 m.) offering the greatest skiable vertical drop in Spain (1,200 metres). Its 353 snow cannons guarantee an exceptionally great snow quality in optimum conditions and have snow cover from the end of November through to end of April. Sierra Nevada's Terrain Park offers one of the longest slope style line in Europe with a 2.5 km. long park and is proud to host this winter season the FIS Freestyle & Snowboard World Championships - March 2017.
